The Center for Research on Women (CROW) conducts, promotes and disseminates scholarship on women and social inequality. Their approach to research, theory and programming emphasizes the structural relationships among race, class, gender and sexuality, particularly in the U.S. South and among women of color. The Community HIV Network is a partnership of clients and organizations serving people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in the greater Memphis Area. Services include HIV testing and pre/post test counseling, medical care, health education and information, access to clinical trials, case management, support groups, consumer advocacy, transportation, day/respite care for children, spiritual counseling, parenting skills training, community outreach, counseling, and referral services. There are youth programs for ages 13-24 and adult programs for women and children.

The Exchange Club offers programs and services in three major areas to help end child abuse and family violence. They address issues of family violence and how it affects both children and adults. Their staff helps families learn how to identify and deal with family violence while offering clients a protected venue for child visitations. Through parenting education, they address the conflicts that arise from stressful parenting situations and divorce. They also address the issue of anger and explore alternative problem-solving skills, communication skills, the causes of anger, and reactions to anger as well as its aftereffects.

The Memphis Center for Reproductive Health recognizes a woman's right to control reproduction, and acknowledges that only through education and understanding can one truly exercise freedom of choice. The mission of the organization is to treat each patient according to her healthcare needs, rather than social or economic factors; and to increase the patient's awareness of gynecological issues, thus enabling her to make informed choices. The Center provides first trimester abortion services; basic gynecological services (pap smear, breast exam, pelvic exam); STD testing and treatment; birth control; pregnancy options counseling; pregnancy dating by ultrasound; free pregnancy screens; community education; information and referral services.

Memphis and Shelby County Community Services Agency (MSCCSA) was established in June of 1993 by the Tennessee State Legislature through the enactment of the Community Health Agencies Act of 1989. MSCCSA provides professionally trained case managers to coordinate the provision of goods and services to assist families and children. Religious and lay leaders founded MIFA in September 1968 because they saw a tremendous need for an organization that would help people out of poverty and into productive lives. MIFA has risen from that founding to become a preeminent social service organization that serves more than 60,000 people a year. Each of MIFA's 20 programs is designed to make positive change in clients' lives. Programs touch infants as young as 6 weeks old to senior citizens older than 100.

The University of Tennessee Outreach Center is a community outreach unit within the College of Medicine. The mission of the Young Women's Christian Association of Greater Memphis is to empower women and eliminate racism.
