POETRY: SELF ESTEEM

by: Caroline Todd

When I am feeling down

I usually frown

Like a queen without a crown

Made a fool of her hometown

But then I get my friends

They are my posse

Without them, I could be at a loss see

My friends cheer me up when weirdoes bring me down

I know I'm fresh

Those people that hate they are a gross mess

The haters express their stress on others

The others stay low and their esteem is crushed

This ain't nothing like a sugar rush

Sometimes you wanna smush the haters but they need love too

If they don't get love they'd feel like you when you were blue
